is a book about a teenage goth girl named Raven. She wears black everything, loves scary movies, and is obsessed with vampires. All her life Raven has lived in a town she calls Dulls-ville, for being so dull. Up the hill, at the very top, from her house, is an abandoned mansion with the story of it being haunted. Almost one-hundred years the house has been abandoned until one day a new family moves in. They turn out to be descendants of the old house's owner. They are rich, have a butler, only go outside at night, and have a goth son, the same age as Raven.
One of the main themes in this story is the ability to keep a secret, secrecy. Raven ends up snooping around the new house with its new residents. She ends up getting caught by the butler and bolts out the door. She then ends up meeting the teenager boy. His name turns out to be Alexander! She instantly falls into a trance with his deep dark eyes and his wearing of black combat boots. He asks her for her to come over for a nice dinner. He eats a raw, very bloody, steak. While she has more edible food. Then she figures it out... he, and the rest of his family are vampires.
I wouldn't recommend this book for any of you who have read the Twilight saga, and are used to the non fairytale characteristics of it. Unlike Twilight, in this book garlic is a poison to vampires, mirrors can't catch the reflection of one, and the sunlight is so painful they cannot come out during the day. Only if you're into that kind of stuff, goth, garlic, and goth love, then would I actually recommend this book to you. Realize that I am not saying it is a bad book but it's different than what I am used to. However it is a good book if you like old fashion vampires.

Safaya - The Best Chef There Ever Was!
When I grow up I think I'd make a great chef. One of my favorite things to do is bake/cook for friends and family. I even have some experience at preparing/making food. I'm really good at cooking with other people (except Celia), or by myself. I love to make desserts and they taste good too! I also enjoy cooking, it gives me something to do and its fun to make food, therefore I will be the best chef that ever was
Preparing food with other people has always come naturally to me. There was that time when I was 9 and I made cookies from scratch and they tasted pretty good. I'm always wanting to bake with other people if they're getting ready to bake. Whenever I have enough ingredients, a helpful friend, and a good recipie, then I bake something. Being able to make a complicated dish with friends or by myself is the first step along the path to becoming a proffesional chef.
Making desserts is another thing I really enjoy. It's so exciting to mix all the flavors and ingredients together and then be able to smell it cooking in the oven. When I'm making desserts I feel like people are depending on me to satisfy their taste buds. I am to cooking as bees are to honey. Being able to make desserts and other dishes for the rest of my life would be and enjoyable and exciting accomplishment.
Enjoying making food for other people takes special talent and it's fun. I gained a lot of experience at being able to enjoy it by preparing breakfast and lunch for other people on demand. I learned a lot about the preperation and techniques of making food. For example, I used to bake almost 24/7 with my grandmother, from dessert dirt to apple pie. The time I spent with my grandmother baking, is sure to give me an advantage when it comes to becoming a professional chef.
The three most important ingredients to becoming a professional chef are being able to cook with others or myself succesfully, liking to make certain foods, and enjoying it, and i've got them all! I want to become the best professional chef ever. I'm never so happy as when I'm in the midst of making food. It's like my grandma said, "One day you're going to love to cook and it will be easy." When I cook, I am at peace, and that's why I'll be the best chef there ever was!

Book Review: Pretties

The main theme in this book is trusting yourself and making tough decisions. An example of this is when Tally gets a note from herself. And it comes with something that she needs to take in order to keep herself bubbly. But like I said she is with her new guy. That's when Tally needs to trust herself in making the right decision, because the note turns out to be from a special someone. She also has some guy trouble in the end and has to choose, who will she decide?
I would recommend this book to anyone who read the first book, Uglies, and to anyone who likes a little romance and reoccurring obstacles towards the character. Tally seriously goes through some frustrating times with all the decisions and problem solving she has to figure out. You might even have some laughs or feel some serious negativity toward certain characters. But like the first it really is a great book.

Book Review: Uglies

One of the main theme's in this book is adventure and discovery. In the story, Tally has to go on a long adenture in order to fulfil the chioce she made. After facing many obstacles, Tally finaly reaches her destination. And when she does she finds Shay and makes new friends. One of her more special friends, introduces her to his parents, and she finds out something she would've never known. And it changes her entire view about being pretty.
I would recommend this book to other 7th grade readers who are ready for some good anticipation and patience. Someone who loves to play tricks would love most of the characters in this book. And if you like the first book as mcuh as I did you can go onto the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books. You would also like this book if you like drama type stories. The drama's tied in wiht the adventures Tally goes on. But it's a really good book and I think you should read it.
