Book Review: Pretties

Pretties, by Scott Westerfield, is the sequel to the book Uglies. Which is a story about a 16 year old named Tally Youngblood. In the beginning,Tally is finally pretty! She has the good life know; awesome clothes, great friends, and she even found a great guy! Then one day while everything is going good and she's at a totally "awesome-making" party, she gets some pretty important news that she really didn't need to mess up her life. Then she becomes "bubbly". But she's also with her new guy, who ends up just like Tally, sort of. In the end Tally goes on another adventure. She also ends up meeting some totally "savage-making" people who turned out to be part of an experiment. And in the very end she Meets an old friend who is now an enemy.

The main theme in this book is trusting yourself and making tough decisions. An example of this is when Tally gets a note from herself. And it comes with something that she needs to take in order to keep herself bubbly. But like I said she is with her new guy. That's when Tally needs to trust herself in making the right decision, because the note turns out to be from a special someone. She also has some guy trouble in the end and has to choose, who will she decide?

I would recommend this book to anyone who read the first book, Uglies, and to anyone who likes a little romance and reoccurring obstacles towards the character. Tally seriously goes through some frustrating times with all the decisions and problem solving she has to figure out. You might even have some laughs or feel some serious negativity toward certain characters. But like the first it really is a great book.
